Quartz is beautiful to enhance the look and feel of your home, and always a great choice for not only your kitchen countertops, but also for bathrooms and braai areas. It is also very important to take care of the Quartz countertops in your home, because even though it is tough material, routine care will ensure that it lasts longer.
Here are a few tips to clean your Quartz countertop:
- Regular cleaning of your Quartz countertop should be done with mild soap or detergent and a soft cloth. Ensure that the soap is non-abrasive and non-bleach.
- Although Quartz is stain resistant, it is not stain proof and will only resist spills for a short period. That is why you should wipe up and spills as soon as possible, especially if it is a coloured liquid.
- For heavy or dried up stains, you should use a simple surface or glass cleaner, such as Windex. Also use a non-abrasive sponge to prevent scratching.
- For deep cleaning: spray a generous amount of cleaner on the stain, leave it on for ten minutes, then wipe it away.
- To scrape away grease, gum or paint, use a plastic putty knife or a razor blade with a degreasing cleanser formulated for Quartz countertops. Rinse the dirt away immediately.
- To remove ink or permanent marker, use an oil-based cleanser and rinse with warm water immediately.
- For heavy and stubborn stains, such as nail polish, you can use a mixture of acetone, dishwashing liquid and water. Make sure that you dilute the dishwashing liquid to the point of minimal abrasiveness. Wipe it away with a soft cloth immediately.
- We recommend Chemico’s Liqui Clean (Pink container) for regular cleaning of your Quartz countertop.
